Hidden in Plain Sight

Spring 2010

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak.
"
-Ecclesiastes III

It's spring.  A time of new beginnings.  Nature continues to demonstrate its changeability and seasons.

Our dogs were very interested in something on the other side (fortunately) of the fence.  Wagging their tails with excitement, heads stuck through the rectangular holes in the fence wire.  At times they were even putting their paws through the fence trying to reach the article of interest.  They weren't sure that my arrival on the scene was a good thing.  Was I going to help them, or stop them?  It turned out to be the later.

There was a very young cottontail rabbit under the bushes in our shade garden.  His mamma had parked him there and he wasn't movin'.  His eyes were open watching all the goings on, but he was hidding as baby rabbits are supposed to hide.  The pups were relocated.  A few pictures were quietly taken, with as little disruption as possible, and baby bunny was left in place.  Just think of the story he will have to share with mom when she returns.

Pictured: baby rabbit, peach flower, peach buds, bee on plum flower and red oak blooms.
